The future of locked characters

Tekken series director Katsuhiro Harada expresses his feelings regarding unlocking characters, where the history of unlocking characters begin and what is the future of video gaming holds. Harada explains in a interview with videogamer.com and the Namco Bandai’s Europe event, that unlocking characters is not feasible now with inline play. Originally locked characters were used in arcades to extend the life if the game by gradually unlocking characters this eventually applied to home video games. Katsuhiro Harada’ Tekken 6 will feature 40 characters, all of them will be available for game play from the very beginning. Tekken 6 on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 will be available on October 27, 2009.
